About

La Casa Di Zoe - Locazioni Turistiche Bed & Breakfast - Palermo

La Casa Di Zoe sits on the third floor of a 1920s building on Via Roma, in the heart of Palermo's old town. The apartment retains original features like an old-fashioned cage elevator, shuttered windows, and period details that give it a distinctive, home-like character. With Wi-Fi throughout and a breakfast prepared on site, it's a comfortable base for sightseeing.

The B&B is run by a father-and-son team who treat guests as visitors rather than clients. They're known for going beyond the usual hospitality — from arranging doctor appointments to offering trusted recommendations for restaurants and sights. The location is a major draw: Massimo Theater is within walking distance, and the central station is about 10 minutes on foot, making it easy to explore Palermo or catch a bus to the airport.

In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Exceptional host hospitality — Guests repeatedly mention the owner and his son going out of their way — from arranging doctor visits and translating to giving trusted local recommendations.
  • Central location in Palermo's old town — The B&B is on Via Roma, within walking distance of Massimo Theater and about 10 minutes from the central station, making it easy to explore on foot.
  • Original 1920s character — From the cage elevator to shuttered windows and unrestored architectural details, the apartment offers a distinctive, non-sterile atmosphere that travelers appreciate.
  • Genuine, home-like atmosphere — The owners treat guests as visitors, not clients, and many describe feeling like they were staying with family.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Modest check-in window — Check-in runs from 08:30 to 23:59, so late arrivals need to coordinate with the host in advance.
  • Parking is not guaranteed on site — There's no dedicated parking listed; some guests mention that the host arranged parking nearby, but it may not always be available.
  • Older building with quirks — The 1920s construction and original features mean the property isn't modern in every aspect — some travelers may prefer more contemporary amenities.
  • No major landmark within immediate sight — While central, the B&B isn't adjacent to a specific famous landmark; you'll need to walk a bit to reach the main sights.

“A very cozy place with friendly people. Be sure to contact the host Gerino by phone or email, and he'll be there when you arrive. It's a 10-minute walk from the station, an old 1920s house with only a small sign outside. Gerino says we're not clients but guests, and he truly means it. When our daughter developed an eye problem on the second day, he arranged a doctor's appointment, drove us there, and translated brilliantly. Very few Sicilians speak English, but his is excellent — that, along with his kind heart, was our saving grace. He gave advice on everything, and every recommendation proved right, from places to eat to places to visit. We warmly recommend this wonderful host and his cozy B&B; we had a delightful week there.”

“The manager took care of everything and arranged for a car, so we didn't worry about parking (for free). The hotel is clean, bright, and new. The sheets and towels smell wonderful! The lady who prepared breakfast and cleaned the rooms was very polite and made great Italian coffee. The breakfast is rich and high quality. The location is great — in the center and in a good area, you can walk everywhere. I recommend it.”

“The overall experience was warm and comforting. La Casa Di Zoe felt like a home away from home. Rooms are very clean and comfortable, Wi-Fi was very fast. The breakfast had a good spread with a caretaker to help. The people running it are warm and welcoming. The location was perfect — all important areas and stations were about 5 minutes away. We'll certainly stay here again.”
